Celebrate The Capitol Cornerstone Centennial

 

One hundred years ago, on Armistice Day 1922, thousands of Nebraskans gathered on the northeast lawn of the Capitol site. Veterans spanning service from the Civil War to the Great War were seated in front rows to witness the cornerstone dedicating the new Capitol to “THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO FELL IN THE SERVICE OF THEIR COUNTRY.” take its place beside the cornerstone of the second Capitol.
